GnRH-I is a decapeptide of hypothalamic origin. GnRH-I acts primarily by regulating the release of biologically active follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH) from the pituitary site mediated by the GnRH receptor (GnRHR).

GnRH-I (0.001-10 μM, 72 h) leads to a significant increase in cell proliferation of PMBC cell lines. Moreover, cells co-treated with IL-2 (50 U/mL) and GnRH-I exhibits a higher proliferative response than IL-2 treatment alone.GnRH-I (0.001-10 μM, 24 h) can effectively increase the expression of IL-2R mRNA of 162.3% compared to the control group in PMBCs.GnRH-I (10 nM, 3 h) can be expressed in human T cells and activates T cell production of laminin receptors while induces chemotaxis of normal human T cells to a key chemokine, stromal cell-derived factor-1α, through a lamina-coated filter.GnRH-I (10 nM, 72 h) significantly increases the migration of EL-4 t -lymphoma cells to the bone marrow and spleen of mice, but does not increase the migration of EL-4 to the thymus, kidney and liver, nor does it increase the number of EL-4 cells in plasma.
